Unlike a static website which can be primarily used to inform, a
web application peforms a task, like managing your email or finding
your nearest restaurant or gym.
Web applications can move stock around or send messages to
hundreds of users. It can speak to your financial database or track
users on your system.
As the web application runs on a web browser you don't have to
worry about compatibility or licensing. You can access your
application from anywhere or secure it to your business
network.
A web application can allow only a few users to access data or
allow many. It can handle a mixture of the two with role based
security access.
How do we create a business web application?
Initially it will start with your ideas, what your want the
application to do for you. This gives us the functional
specification of the project and from that we can create wire frame
diagrams of how your new web application will fit together.
Don't worry if you need to make the odd change here and there as
we can always cope with changes to specification as your situation
changes.
